WindFire Cursor and the WindFire OS Series

Very little is known about this kite. It seems to be bringing the desktop of your computer outdoors (pfff, finally). Quad-line control, asymmetrical framing, nearly invisible hand-formed stainless fittings, and opposed-bow tensioning for the sail make this incredible kite look digitally pasted right into the sky. But it isn't. Carefully designed by Tim Elverston, this high-end addition to the WindFire collection marks the beginning of the WindFire OS Series. Stay tuned and don't worry, we've got all the logical extensions of this series in the works!

The WindFire Cursor is a work of art, both as a concept and a performance. A flying sculpture and social commentary. Like a magic act, the visual simplicity comes at the cost of considerable behind-the-scenes complexity. We are very interested in using the obvious potential of this in many ways. If you are reading this and you're having ideas, please consider inviting us to perform in front of your cameras and/or at your event! Contact us - we specialize in kite performances all over the world and for any type of event.
Below is a video that was taken by someone who, like us, realized that attending the international kite festival in Cervia Italy ARTEVENTO is a really intelligent thing to do.

I think it would be funnier if you could build a huge box kite that looked like a Windows dialog box with text stating...

"This planet is not responding and will be terminated. Would you like to send this information to God?"

A Close runner-up on engadget:

I've read about this it's not a kite it's the Google Earth real-time mouse pointer plug in.

We out our life energy into our designs. It may be tempting for others in the kite industry to adapt, modify and simply to use these technologies. Please do not emulate our work without contacting us first. Please give credit where it is due. Tell 'em about us and maybe we'll tell 'em about you. ...Oh yeah and buy our kites!
