Kite business with minimal environmental impact.
by: Tim Elverston

Kites are so wonderful, particularly as a source of power, in large part because of their minimal needs from Earth. Initially, manufacturing the synthetic materials used for almost any kite on the market is a bit taxing in terms of chemical by-products. But, once the kite is made, the demands are close to zero and it lasts a really long time. When kites are used for power, one only has to compare them to a gasoline engine for a second to realize how 21st century kites really are.

We are doing what we can to reduce energy consumed in our kite repair business. We make almost daily trips on this Worksman Front Load Tricycle. We call it the truckbike. Every kite we repair and anything else we ship gets to ride in this marvel on its way to the post office.

The dog, Wensley, provides some of the power on the way there. He waits while we ship them, and then it's his turn to ride in the truckbike.
